We hope your holiday season was a pleasant one, no matter what you celebrate!
ASPS is almost ready for layout. Our editor just graduated last month, which slowed things down briefly while they handled those arrangements and celebratory events. Things are back to full speed, with finishing touches being given to the sample settings to finalise them. Here's a peek at one of the maps:
We should definitely have a text only version we can release to you by month's end, as long as nothing else untoward arises while layout gets to work on adding the art and making it all look pretty.
Keepsakes is a bit behind where we'd hoped to be. Our editor on that has had some life things that took precedence, and a recent computer issue that lost a chunk of the edits so they're now going back through the files to redo that. Hopefully we'll be back on track with that soon!

ASPS is one chapter away from layout.
Our Keepsakes editor has had some life things going on that have made progress there slower but we still expect it to be done soon. If things proceed as expected, we should have the ASPS PDF for folks in November and the Keepsakes PDF in December. Ideally we'll have both books and the rest shipping by Christmas.
In the meantime, we have sent via Backerkit a Quickstart guide for Keepsakes, and one for ASPS with additional Fox Magic content and character sheets, to all who backed for PDFs or books.
Our streaming team is also putting together a charity event on October 22nd - 23rd because we were asked to raise funds for a refugee camp via The Transgender Law Center's Black LGBTQ Migrant Project! We'll be running: Arkelon Chronicles, Bloodborne [a reskin of Lasers & Feelings], Fox Magic, Zin Never Dies, Metahumans Rising, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Call of Cthulhu, Mothership, and three different Halloween themed D&D 5e games. If you want to help the charity, or just watch the games, follow us on Twitch to be notified when the games go live.

Backerkit, keeping in touch, and minor update

We are inching ever closer to fulfillment. The last of the art is being finalised for ASPS, and Keepsakes is heading into the next editing phase. Check out the latest colour proof we've gotten from the art team for a superhero with a disability here:
We are locking orders and charging cards on Backerkit now, so that we have final counts on things like the dice and plushies, since those will take the longest to complete as they are done by hand. At least 25% of you have still not completed your surveys! Please fill those out so that we have accurate numbers going into fulfillment. There are also some card charge errors from add-ons. Please check your card on file and update as necessary.

Getting Close Now

Sorry for the delays in updating. We are working hard behind the scenes to complete the books! ASPS has finished edits; there was one chapter for sample settings [called shells] missing, so the team is hard at work completing that. We have a few more pieces of art to complete as well, then it's off to layout and the printers!
Keepsakes is only a little behind it. The first edit pass is complete. Now the files are being gone over and consolidated, then a second edit will happen. From there, the art is complete so it's just off to layout and the printer!
The dice are nearly complete; our crafter is waiting on new, sturdier molds to complete the remaining batch.
Plushies have their fabric purchased and will be sewn and stuffed together soon. A few of the dragons are already completed.
As a thank you for your patience, every one of you who have placed an order will receive the raw text file of BOTH games. This will be without the art and layout, but it will get the games into your hands sooner while you await the formal pdfs and/or physical copies that you backed for.
We're including some progress pictures, so you can see what goes into the art process of many of the pieces. Hope you find them informative and interesting, and get a taste for some of the art and characters awaiting you in ASPS!
Things begin with a mood board, where various images are assembled to get a feel for characterisation and art direction.
Then different versions are roughly sketched to determine which way to build up from.
Then the real work begins, sketching out the character and any surroundings - in this case, his companion animals
Then we sample colours to decide what shades to use to use.
It all starts coming together! You'll see the final render of Tamper and his companions in the book :)
This badass pair is the final render of Fire/Fyre. They are one robot! They have male and female presenting forms, and different car styles for each gender. You can spot some of the same panels between them!
Bonus - we couldn't decide between A or B, we liked them both so much! So expect to spot BOTH differently-abled superheroes in the pages of ASPS!
